Where USAF Test Pilots Choose To Train

Adventure Air is proud to provide specialized gyroplane flight training for pilots from the United States Air Force Test Pilot School.

Our program gives experienced military aviators hands-on exposure to the unique aerodynamics and handling characteristics of modern gyroplanes, with training focused on aircraft handling qualities, rotorcraft aerodynamics, energy management, stability and control, and precision flight evaluation.

Our goal isn't simply to help you earn a rating. It's to develop safe, professional and proficient gyroplane pilots.

Whether you're earning your first pilot certificate or adding a gyroplane rating to an existing certificate, Adventure Air tailors your training to your experience, abilities and goals. We train to proficiency—not simply to meet minimum hour requirements—so that when your training is complete, you have the knowledge, judgment and flying skills to operate confidently and safely on your own.

We have gyroplanes available for rental to qualified pilots. Renters must meet Adventure Air's checkout requirements and provide any documentation required for insurance eligibility. Contact us to discuss aircraft availability and checkout requirements. 

Is there a weight limit to fly?

Yes. These are light sport aircraft and we are bound by aircraft limitations for safety. A maximum clothed weight of 250 pounds is allowed. 

How much does gyroplane training cost?

Training cost depends on your experience and the certificate or rating you're pursuing. Experienced airplane or helicopter pilots adding a gyroplane rating often require substantially less training than someone earning their first pilot certificate.

Adventure Air trains to proficiency—not simply to a minimum number of hours.

What training programs do you offer?

Train for your Sport Pilot Gyroplane certificate or add a gyroplane rating to the pilot certificate you already hold. Our instructors build each training program around your experience, proficiency and goals.

$85,000-$300,000 USD

Can I buy a plane and get my license from you?

Absolutely. Adventure Air is an authorized AutoGyro dealer and gyroplane flight training center. We can help you select an aircraft and provide transition or rating training in your own gyroplane. Current dual instruction in customer-owned aircraft starts at $185 per hour.
